Hord Farms is a diversified farming operation in North-Central Ohio currently farming 8,685 acres of corn, beans, wheat, and barley, in addition to raising pigs and cattle. Our Hord Elevator division is seeking to seasonal scale room technician at both our Bucyrus and Edison locations. No experience is required, training will be provided!

A Day in the Life:

  • Oversee trucks weighing in and out of facility
  • Probe grain and/or ingredient trucks
  • Perform quality testing on grain and/or ingredient samples and enter results into computer
  • Talk to drivers to get load information in-person and/or over radio
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area
  • Those interested in position should be available to work Monday – Saturday starting mid-September through November hours of operation are: 7:30am – 6pm.  
    • Please note that exact hours/days worked may vary based on weather

What You Need:

  • Strong attention to detail and superb organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a past paced environment
  • Willingness to consistently follow repeated steps to ensure accuracy

Hord Farms is a diversified farming operation in North-Central Ohio currently farming 8,685 acres of corn, beans, wheat, and barley, in addition to raising pigs and cattle. Our Hord Grain and Land division is now seeking to add an experienced Farm Equipment Operator to the team.

A Day in the Life:

This key position is responsible for the operation of heavy equipment–tractors, skid steers, pay loaders, combines, sprayers, fertilizer applicators, truck and trailers to name a few.  Additionally, this position will help maintain the overall appearances of all fields and facilities, participate in preventative maintenance of all equipment and buildings, perform minor electrical repairs and basic welding, and assist with other field and facility/equipment projects as needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience with John Deere equipment, the flexibility to work long hours as needed, especially during peak farm seasons; the attention to detail to maintain accurate/timely records as well follow bio-security policies when moving between different farm locations; and a willingness to learn and provide feedback to team leaders.  Class A CDL preferred.

  • Knowledge of farming operations, including experience in environmental applications and crop operations
  • Experience with using precision equipment/GPS, skid loaders, tractors, backhoe bulldozer, tiling machinery, power tools

This entry-level position is responsible for washing and sanitizing animal transport vehicles and trailers between uses and performing general maintenance and cleaning for truck wash facilities. The Truck Wash Team Member follows frequent deadlines and scheduling, utilizes high pressure washing equipment and performs other general duties. Previous on-farm experience is not required; employer will provide on-site training.
