Job Details:

Who We Are:

The HORD team, nationally known for our world class pig production, is currently looking for individuals to add to our livestock transportation team.  These positions offer full training, recognition for high performance, and a supportive team-focused atmosphere.

A Day in the Life:

This key position generally works M-F between 5am and 3pm.  Some flexibility is required based on load schedules and optimal temperatures for transport during times of extreme heat in the summer or extreme cold in the winter.  Livestock Transport Specialists are primarily responsible for:

  • Transporting pigs from sow farms to grow-to-finish farms
  • Assisting with loading and unloading
  • Performing general maintenance
  • Washing trailers to maintain our high standards for cleanliness and herd safety

What You Need:

  • Candidates must not currently own or have routine contact with non-Hord pigs.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs., climb, bend, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Time management skills to ensure loads move on schedule
  • Display a high level of respect to team members and animals
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, physically strenuous environment
  • Impeccable record of reliability/dependability
  • Willingness to learn and carry out complex instructions effectively
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Excel, and email functions
